Our Commitment to Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG)
At our school, we are deeply committed to providing high quality, inclusive and ambitious careers guidance that supports every learner to understand their strengths, explore opportunities and move confidently towards their next steps. We recognise that excellent careers provision is essential to raising aspirations, promoting independence and preparing our young people for adulthood.
Our approach is informed by the latest national expectations, which emphasise the importance of structured and tailored careers education, ensuring that all learners understand a broad range of pathways and progression routes. We are committed to delivering a careers programme that supports learners to make informed decisions, challenges stereotype and builds the confidence they need to take meaningful next steps.
We place a strong focus on equity and inclusion, reflecting Ofsted’s requirement that careers provision meets the needs of disadvantaged pupils, those with SEND and learners known to social care. This means ensuring personalised guidance, accessible employer encounters and supportive interventions tailored to each learner’s abilities, aspirations and individual circumstances.
Our careers programme includes:
Employer encounters and workplace experiences, helping learners gain insight into local industries and real-world roles.
Impartial personal guidance delivered by qualified professionals, supporting students to understand their options and make informed choices.
Integration of careers within the curriculum, enabling learners to make meaningful connections between what they study and future pathways.
Clear progression and destination planning, recognising that achievement includes moving on to destinations that reflect each learner’s interests, needs, and long-term goals.
Age-appropriate activities during National Careers Week, National Apprenticeship Week and National Volunteering Week, linked to Independence Week or fortnight.
We also work closely with parents and carers, reflecting updated expectations that careers provision includes active parental engagement and clear communication.
As part of our ongoing development, we regularly review our CEIAG programme to evaluate its intent, implementation, and impact, ensuring that it remains embedded, purposeful, and responsive to the needs of our learners and community.
Ultimately, our commitment is simple:
Every learner deserves a future filled with possibility.
We work every day to ensure that each student is equipped, supported, and inspired to take their next step with confidence.
